At Research & Degrowth International we are looking for an intern to take over communication tasks of the association.

Start date: 13th January, 2025

Duration: 6 months (Jan 2025 – July 2025)

Hours: 16 hours weekly (50% of 32 hour week)

Location: Bloc4, Sants, Barcelona with possibility for 50% hybrid working

Salary: 1000€ gross per month

Tasks:

• Social media management (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), ensuring regular updates on the association’s projects, events and publications
• Creation of degrowth content for the social media accounts
• Building a presence on TikTok and Youtube creating degrowth related short videos
• Community engagement by responding to inquiries on social media
• Website maintenance and publication of blog articles on degrowth.org
• Writing a bi-annual newsletter
• Public relations: write press releases, coordinate media coverage and build a network of journalists interested in degrowth
• Elaboration of a communication strategy for the association
• Collaboration with volunteer communication team and the office team

Qualifications:

• To hold or be in the process of completing a degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Affairs, Photography or Video-making
• Passion for degrowth, ecological economics and socio-ecological transformation
• Strong writing and editing skills in English and Spanish; proficiency in Catalan is an asset
• Experience managing social media platforms (experience with design tools like Canva, Photoshop, or InDesign and video editing programs is a plus)
• Knowledge of website management (WordPress)
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
• Interest in working in an horizontal organization
• Enthusiasm for creative content development and storytelling
