Valentina Lomanto Perdomo

Short bio

Valentina is an ecofeminist anthropologist and lawyer, with a Masters in Political Ecology, Degrowth and Environmental Justice. She has worked with indigenous and campesino communities in Colombia, supporting their struggles against extractivism and the hegemonic development model, reinforcing economic, cultural and artistic practices that produce and reproduce their cultural worlds and worldviews.  She has also worked in with urban and rural populations in resilience building and climate change adaptation well as climate change migration. Her recent research has been focused on the possibilities of systemic change that emerge with the recognition of legal rights to nature, Political Ecology of the Amazon rainforest deforestation and restoration and critical development studies.
