Sam Bliss

Short Bio

Sam is a PhD student in natural resources at the University of Vermont, part of the Economics for the Anthropocene initiative. With Professor Josh Farley, he studies the theory and practice of de-commodifying food. During a one-year Fulbright fellowship at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Sam reviewed the scientific evidence surrounding claims that underlie the “post-environmentalist” proposal to address the environmental crisis with more intensive, more artificial technologies. He has a B.A. in economics and environmental studies from Western Washington University in the U.S.
